  • MVC Scores [Sat 2/17/13]

    Ark St. 10, BU 1
    CU 15, Dallas Baptist 6
    Ark L-R 8, EU 7
    ISUR 7, Memphis 4
    ISUB 12, Alabama A&M 5
MSU 3, Sam Houston State 2
    UAB 1, SIU 0

MSU playing as expected with what looks like dominating pitching.

CU might be the suprise, starting 2-0 versus Dallas Baptist. Either Dallas Baptist is not very good this year or CU is much better than expected and a very good offense scoring 26 runs in two games.

Virtually every Valley team has a better #1 than we do. Virtually every Valley team has more power and can manufacture runs better than we do.

Like most, hopes of returning to national prominence were abandoned long ago until we can get a new coach. That being said, there is NO excuse for any Valley team to have better material. NONE. ZERO.

As much as it pains me, I am preparing myself for the very real possibility of the first ever losing season, and, if it's possible, even worse, not qualifying for the Valley tournament.

While I completely understand the financial pitfalls of buying out Gene, I fear we've made a colossal blunder in allowing him to play out his contract.

Please step down with at least some dignity Gene.

I remember the days when we had 2-3 damn good starting pitchers and atleast 1 guy that just seemed like a automatic win. Now, I'm not sure we even have 1 good starting pitcher.

yes, a very poor start to the season, and i am not going to defend the coaches, however, i think
ya'll are going to be eating your words in a few short weeks. your going to discover that losing to
pitt is no huge disgrace and that we will be much better than ya'll are suggesting here.

Wrong - way wrong sunshine pumper. In the next couple of weeks, we face baseball powerhouses (rolls eyes) in Fordham, Omaha-Nebraska, Delaware, North Dakota and Texas Pan American, we may end up sweeping all these teams but it won't give me any reason to believe our team is back to expectations. These crap programs should be handled easily, and if we are so fortunate to do so, it won't validate our program to elite level like you seem to think we are. In the mix of these opponents are two games with ORU which I do not see us winning by the way.

Come back to me after our 8 game road swing at Long Beach and Hawaii. I'm betting your tone will have changed by then.

Please, with the like of Delaware, Fordham, Nebraska-Omaha, Texas Pan-American and N.D. State on the schedule for the next month nothing will be know whether this team is "good" until they get into Valley play. But if they are losing then that is a big danger sign.
