Going to be a fun year for baseball in the Valley. I know Keith really likes his lineup for 2013. KG considers it to be the most athletic lineup we have had since 2003. -

Illinois State doesn't even charge for their home games and they still can't draw a crowd. Their infield and outfield are terrible. I have seen more bad hops on that lousy field than any other in the Valley. There are not many quality hotels or motels in Normal (I hope there is absolutely nothing else going on in that area that weekend or nobody will be able to find a room). Their stadium, while pretty new, is very small. If they do manage to somehow draw a crowd there won't be any place to put them.Originally posted by LuskingforGuttin View Post
It really is a crime in my opinion that the Valley baseball tourney will be held there this year. I have been to every Valley tourney since 1978 except for a couple in the 80s, but I doubt if I go this year. I don't want to show any kind of support for such a terrible decision.Comment

Sorry, LfG, but I think you're mistaking fairness for charity. If a school wants to be host for the tournament, shouldn't they do something to show they deserve it? While I don't agree with placing the tournament in Normal I do believe they will have a new turf field playing field for 2013.
