McNeese has their tickets on sale. $10 GA and $15 reserved are available.
Everyone going to Hawaii can probably get on the pass list, if you're nice.
Wish I was going to Hawaii. Hopefully we do this every few years and I’ll tag along next time. Looks like McNeese is sold out of lower reserved seats, including next to the Shocker dugout.
Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!
I won't learn anything that I don't know now (and that ain't much) before the first pitch is thrown next weekend, so I am going to guess the lineup that HCBG will send out to battle the Cowboys on the 14th.
VS Left handed starter:
Caleb Duncan CF R/R
Camden Johnson SS L/R
Jordan Black 3B R/R
Josh Livingston 1B L/R
Jordan Rogers 2B R/R
Jaden Gustafson DH L/L
Mauricio Millan C R/R
Lane Haworth LF L/L
Davis Mauzy RF R/R
VS Right handed starter:
Camden Johnson SS L/R
Caleb Duncan CF R/R
Josh Livingston 1B L/R
Jordan Black 3B R/R
Jaden Gustafson L/L
Jordan Rogers 2B R/R
Owen Washburn RF L/R
Mauricio Millan C R/R
Lane Haworth LF L/L
PH: Ryan Callahan, Gannon Snyder. Won't be surprised if Mauzy gets a shot in center at some point.
When and if Kam Durnin is healthy and ready, I would expect him to take over 2B and send Rogers the OF.
I would expect Hamilton, Adler & Miner to be the starters. Seo, Mulamekic will find out fairly soon if they're ready. Plenty of Anderson, Holmes, Arnett, Iverson & Dobbs out of the pen. I honestly can't remember but was it Nick Potter throwing hard in the fall? Control is a big issue here but he could get a shot in the right spot. Might see Colton Vercoe at some point. And I hope Umbarger and Langbehn get thrown into the fire, sooner than later. Probably Umbarger first.
For me, general questions are:
I think we can be competitive with starting pitching. But can we find at least 1 (need 2 for sure) guy that can step up and be a real Friday guy, meaning the type of reliable starter to both give you innings (so you don't burn your pen on Friday) and keep you in any game? Caden Favors did that a lot last year. Then Tommy LaPour developed very, very quickly. End of '24 Hamilton and '23 Adler and Miner would be an excellent start. Seo or Umbarger developing their very talented arms quickly could make us dangerous.
I'm ok with how our pen is looking, but we need, as Coach Green has often said, some back end thunder. Big question.
Can we find some consistent power, outside of Livy?
I expect we're going to run....can we be successful there is the question I have?
