Maybe, but not because of losing to ECU in East Carolina.

We’ve already won more than a lot were expecting. House money at this point

Agreed, but it started off with way more promise and just feels like it's very quickly getting worse

The bar was set pretty low. But if they don’t watch out, based on current trajectory, they have potential to finish worse than everyone was expecting.

With well coached teams, you typically expect to get better as the season goes along, not worse. That’s my concern at this point.

Moreso referring to losing 10 of the last 12 after a decently promising start. With a lot of games feeling like missed opportunities

They coached the guys, especially the pitching staff, to FAR exceed their talent for the first half of the year - but at some point the lack of talent will catch up to you

Not to mention that the back half of the schedule was quite a bit tougher than the first half included back-to-back midweek games in two consecutive weeks against Big 12 opponents.

We pretty much new from the get go that this team was going to have to rely on winning the AAC Tournament if they want to see post-season play this year. Now whether there is a reasonable shot at that happening is a debatable for sure. It would have been nice if Daniel Zang had been able to sustain his early success on the mound plus having another couple of conistently effective arms. IMO the Shocks will definitely need to stay out of the loser's bracket for that to happen.

                  • We are being scouted. Unknowns have become knowns to opponents. When a minor league hitter or pitcher gets called up and blows people away the first couple of weeks, it really means nothing. Check back in a couple of months or a year when he’s been looked at and noted a few times. The same holds true with coaches.

7 run lead in 1st game, 3 run lead in 2nd yet get blown out in both games?
That folks pretty much wraps up this season of Shocker Baseball.

Do not have the pitching to sustain a run at the tournament in Fla.
Made some progress this year, but just not there yet.

                        That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

Lack of talent? They have several JUCO All Americans and the best recruiting class in years. Young maybe but there is plenty of talent.
