UAB is 10-10 for the season. We have a mutual opponent in Auburn (ranked #23) who they lost to 2-7 (we lost to Auburn 8-19).

Southeastern Louisiana is a team they have played at home that's fairly close to us in RPI, and UAB won the first one by one point but lost the last two to SL.

Was Michael Mulhollonj undergoing surgery previously mentioned?

It was not. I heard he was done last week but didn't feel like I should share that information until public. Hopefully he'll see a full recovery but this year's done, at least.

Further example of why we still need to develop depth and length. It's a long season.

On another note, with the team traveling, tomorrow's game appears to be dicey at best. The greater Birmingham area is expecting rain throughout the day and into Saturday morning.

I would expect an early call tomorrow that schedules a DH on Saturday. It's too hard to get in a Sunday DH with travel plans.

Any word on Iverson? He went out the other day, looked like an arm injury.

I know Zang hasn't been sharp, but I'm not sure it was time for a change.....I hope to hell that's what it is, because if he's hurt we're in deep ****.

With the threat (almost certainty) of rain, I don't expect to play tomorrow. Patience at the plate will be key to success for the Shocks this weekend. The Blazers do have a solid rotation, it's getting into their pen where it breaks down and breaks down fast. We need quality at bats and make them work and tire to be successful across the board.

Hope Zang and Iverson are both ok.

That same thought crossed my mind but I didn't want to say it out loud. Obviously that would not be good.

Hamilton has been good. Maybe Hamilton just earned a shot?

Certainly a possibility, but he is only getting a shot because Zang has been struggling. But it is possible that the coaching statf made the decision that the best way to get Zang back on track is to take him of the track and then work him back in as opportunities present. Could be an injury issue with Zang but it could also be something mechanical with his delivery or perhaps he is pressing to hard. Sometimes the best way to get a player back on track is to take him off the track for a period of time. See Chloe Barber on the Shocker softball team.
