Official Signings Are Starting to Be Announced:

          Easton Phillippe:

          Luke Beeler:

          Karson Durnin:

          Gino Zagorac:

          Ethan Rogers:

          Jackson Vaughan:

Not all that big of a signing class (7) considering we have 15 seniors on the 2024-25 roster. Of course, there may be more to come including possible portal transfers.

I suppose these could be either for Class of 2025 or Class of 2026.

I am assuming this is the "Big and I mean one!" HCBG was hyping:

Will Patterson is a 6-6, 230 lb LHP out of Tyler Junior College.

His numbers as a freshman at TJC are not that impressive. An ERA of 8.72 and a WHIP of 1.94 in 21.2 innings. 21 strikeouts is good. 24 walks, 2 hit batters, 6 wild pitches and 3 balks not so good.

What we have here seems to be a Project with a capital P.

Not sure why Coach would "hype" someone with these numbers. I understand that he must see worthy potential..............but still?

By the way, it is not "not that impressive", it's "not impressive". Maybe he'll be our version of "wild thing".

No question the Coach Green and pretty much every coach over-hypes their recruits. Kind of goes with the territory I suppose. Not sure how successful you would be if you announced that this guys is terrible but we think he has potential so we are going to take a chance on him If it doesn't work out will just move on to someone else. Go Shocks!

I assume this is the additional signing that Coach Green pressaged in his recent tweets:

                      Blinn Junior College catcher: https://buccaneersports.com/sports/b...n-gonzalez/837

Again not seeing anything in his freshman year stats to get too excited about. 3 of the 4 catchers the Shocks listed on the 2025 roster are seniors, Mauricio Millan, Cole Dillon, Logan Kreske, to go along with 1 freshman in Hunter Carlson. So that position is open for competition next year I suppose. Perhaps this young man would be happy with Logan Kreske's role which is primarily a bullpen catcher and a few pinch hitting appearances.

34 roster limit. Likely 15 position players, 19 pitchers or 14 and 20. How do you carry 3 catchers? If 14, that 6 backups. 2 catchers and 2 infielders and 2 outfielders?

Doesn't give you a lot of options.

Texas State trying to stay alive with a 5 point lead early in set 3.

Watch for Bobcat Mary Jane MJ McCurdy #7 if you get a chance. Really good player who has grown a bunch in the last 2 years from a little to a D1 OH with over 300 kills this season.

She's a monster and there's no way she's staying at Texas State next year. LOVE to get her here, but I'm sure she's destined for Nebraska, Wisconsin, Texas etc.

I missed it but Loyola shocked BYU in a match that frankly wasn't very competitive 20, 21, 17.

Texas State still leads set 3, 15-10.

Former KC Royals legends son MJ Sweeney commits. Big 1B was at Texas last year before getting cut at semester. Big kid. Big upside!!

Eagle - Son of Royals legend Mike Sweeney, a 2026 recruit, commits to Wichita State baseball

The son of Royals legend Mike Sweeney will suit up for the Wichita State baseball team in 2026.

M.J. Sweeney, a highly-touted prospect who was originally committed to Texas out of high school, gave a verbal commitment to WSU head coach Brian Green on Thursday.

And yes, he plays first base just like his father, which will be a position of need for the Shockers entering the 2026 season following the graduations of Josh Livingston and Ryan Callahan. The biggest difference? M.J. Sweeney stands 6-foot-8 and 240 pounds.

“Can’t wait to be a part of this special program!” Sweeney posted on social media in his announcement.
