Even more leverage for him to maximize his NIL deal.

I don't know how much $$$ we have in NIL, but it seems like Tolle would be the kind of guy you could start to build a program around. I hope we dig deep to match and keep him around.

People keep saying we have an NIL kitty. I'm waiting on a player like Tolle to provide evidence. Thus far any deals from the basketball side say otherwise.

Rodden Named AAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco announced Wednesday that Wichita State's Brock Rodden has been named the 2022-23 American Athletic Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year as chosen by the conference's faculty athletics representatives.

Rodden and South Florida women's basketball player Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu, The American's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, will each receive a $4,000 postgraduate financial scholarship.

Rodden and Mendjiadeu were chosen from a group of 24 individual sport Scholar-Athletes of the Year who received $2,000 postgraduate scholarships.

Rodden, a native of Oktaha, Oklahoma, becomes the first Wichita State student-athlete to be named as The American's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is the fourth baseball player from the conference to be chosen in the last five years. Rodden was named as The American's Player of the Year after slashing .371/.474/.701 with 17 home runs and 64 RBIs in 55 games. He was named an ABCA and Collegiate Baseball Third Team All-American and was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the fifth round of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft.

Rodden finished the 2023 spring semester with a 3.77 grade-point average as a health science major.
