There is no legitimate comparison between the Isaac Brown and Scooter Hibbs circumstances. Hibbs is an experienced D1 head coach (27 years) who built a program using the Gene Stephenson model at Charlotte based upon the many (7) years coaching here under #10. He knows how to run a program at the D1 level.
The fact that no players bolted after Hibbs was given the keys to the head coach's office is a testament to what the players think of him. Hibbs is absolutely the right man for the WSU Head Coaching position. Remember, he was DOBO and most likely less involved with daily coaching and recruiting than Wedge/Sirianni.
There is not a more perfect fit with WSU Baseball than Loren Hibbs. Period. He loves Wichita State. The baseball alumni love that he is now the coach and want to see him be made permanent Head Coach. And he WANTS this job.
I think Loren Hibbs is a better fit than was Eric Wedge was because he understands D1 baseball and college-aged student athletes. He is happy to be home and at the helm at WSU, There will be egg on Kevin Saal's face if he hires anyone but Loren Hibbs permanently or a very experienced D1 head coach.
