    • Houston score their 13 runs in the 7th on only 7 hits and no Shocker errors off of 6 Shocker pitchers with all 13 runs scoring with 2 outs.. The Shocker pitchers walked 4 and hit 3 batters. There were no Shocker errors. Included in the 7 hits were a 2-run double, a 3-run double and two 3-run home runs.

      That is hard to do.

      • I have absolutely no idea what I would do as a head coach if my team allowed 13 runs by 6 different pitchers......

To a team that had a worse record......

        In one inning.......

        AT HOME!!!!!!

            • Gotta wonder what's going through ADKS' head at this point.

Employ some of Johnny's training methods from Cobra Kai.

I was contemplating that very same thing. At the same time there have been some good things this year as well. But man, what a roller coaster ride its been for this team.

Our weekend starting rotation of Candiotti, Tolle and Adler has not been too bad. But the Shocks don't seem to have much to back that up.

My thinking is the if Scooter's heart was really into a permanent coaching position he would have stayed at Charlotte, but I could be way off base with that assessment.

I think the reliever situation is stronger than the stats show, but the leash is so short on the stronger relief pitchers that the stats are getting overwhelmed by the strugglers. I think it would be an easy math exercise to prove it, but I'm not gonna bother.

                    • That might be the most embarrassing, humiliating scene I’ve ever witnessed in sports.

                      Pelfrey deserves an extension.

                      This team still SUCKS.

What a waste with a guy like Rodden on the team.

                      ... No really, deuces.

Same. Like the Mens bball situation, curious to where the $ may come from, but a house cleaning appears to be in order. Feel for KS, he was really handed a mess.

I just don’t understand how they can defeat an OSU team at their place, and then get run ruled at home by UH. Perhaps that is just baseball, but it seems like a lack of focus to me.

                        • I was at the game and our shortstop played second base all day while Houston hit the ball right through the left side. Genius shift.

There is a mental part of the game. Good teams are able to keep their focus game in and game out. This program has not had that ability for a decade now regardless of the talent level.

I wonder what the difference has been in a decade?

There are posters, seemingly, mainly basketball posters, who swear by the metrics. Baseball Shifts are just using the metrics. At least, Scooter is trying to be modern. However, I’m not totally sold on the metrics, especially at the college level. It isnt always right, but you are the first in a long time to call it out on Shockernet. But here none of the metrics believers, gave an explanation on why you are wrong.
