Candiotti showed flashes, Favors was really good. Hitters made few adjustments, could have used Flaggert to pinch hit for Thornhill in the 9th and not sure why McDonald hit 9th.
Disappointing start, but tomorrow is another day.

Pitching was fine from Candiotti and very good from Favors. Hitters didn't compete, and placed pitchers under little pressure. 7 K's from #2 Thornhill, 4 Tolle, and 5 Ingram, in the order. Starting LBSU pitcher pitched 75 pitches, with 8 K's, in 7 innings (1 hit). Only Two walks from McDonald (#9 batter). We had one bad break, after McDonald walked, and then Rodden followed with a hard hit line drive to the 3rd baseman, who doubled off McDonald in an inning.
Hopefully, our hitters learn, because hitting wasn't a problem last year.

I think the team was still mainly on whimpy-ass airplane food. Today they will be on hotel breakfast buffet and some good restaurant eats and start knocking the leather off the ball! Plus I bet we got the Dirtbag's best pitching and now they are thinner than Taylor Swift on meth.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Nothing will carry at night there, so I hope we see fewer flyouts and adjust. Pennington's ball was absolutely crushed and would have been over 21st in Wichita. Nobody is leaving that field unless it's a laser right down the line under perfect conditions.
We'll see a righty transfer from Gonzaga tonight. I suspect we'll see a few differences in the lineup not limited to Tolle out of the DH role when he pitches, maybe Chuck to DH and Stroh to right field for starters. Wouldn't surprise me to see Herring at 2nd since he's a lefty hitter (vs righty) as compared to Little (righty hitter vs lefty starter last night).
Stark or Gustafson could replace Rogers in right (same lefty right thing). Alex might get a shot to catch but I think they stay with Millan.

The game isn't until 8 tonight.
Kung Wu you're right, Cadena was excellent behind the plate. I hope Mo will get there. I believe Mo has a better arm than Ross and definitely has a better bat. Since you mentioned it, Birge actually might get the nod tonight with a righty on the mound (lefty hitter) and maybe even Tolle at DH and P given his left handed status (lots of possibilities now that I think about it).
Connor Burns, LBSU catcher, is one of the best in the country behind the plate. Returning CDPOY and Gold Glove Finalist. He caught a great game last night.
