They have lost their ability to communicate properly with someone who is less than 21 years of age. Although, I'm not sure they ever had that ability to begin with.
I won't disagree with that. But to say these coaches don't know baseball is pretty stupid. I have long said they need someone younger on the staff to relate to players these days. That is my biggest gripe with Gene and he has to own that. His loyalty to his coaches has probably been his downfall...

TJ is always in tight games, he always seems to blow it as well.

4 straight years of baseball lacking execution, etc.

Gene has got to go, one way or the other. Hopefully he realized he needs to retire as that ball was heading out of the yard.

If Eck stadium wasn't odd looking already, it will really look funny with 50 people in it for the Bradley series. 3 straight Valley series losses in a row, thats quite an accomplishment for a coach who has history, money, facilities, fan support on his side. Makes you sick when you really put some thought into it.

What would any major league team do with these kind of struggles? I know it's not a great comparison, but would they continue on with the same coaching staff year after year? Or, would they go out and try to find someone to fix the problem? You can't fire the players in college baseball.

Kaboom! Time to start preparing for the MVC Tournament. Use Cale Elam only enough to keep him sharp out of the bullpen. Keep the pitch counts down for the starters and pitch as many guys as possible to try to freshen and sharpen the staff for tournament play. Sit Johnny and give that hamstring a chance to heal. Make sure everyone who may play gets a decent number of AB's over the remainder of the season.

I give the Shocks maybe a 10% - 20% chance of winning the MVC Tournament.

A change is needed! I was hoping Brandon Hall and Billy Hall would add something new but it hasn't yet. We do have a lot of good looking young players so maybe things will turn around in the next few years??? And for the record, I never meant to imply Shane has learned everything he knows from the coaches. My point was he played here and has been the DOBO for 10 years and spends everyday with the coaches and players. I just really doubt he is coming up with things on the radio that the coaches haven't stressed to the players over and over all year.

I've always been fond of the old adage "players win and coaches lose". With Gene I feel that it has always been the other way around. Players lose and coaches win. Or, maybe its just I win in Gene's head. It is time that he takes some responsibility for how this team performs.

WSU is now 6-8 in the MVC and in 6th place (and could be in 7th if ISUR wins today)

I hope they finish under .500 in conf.

I don't, but I understand why you said it. The big problem is that if they did finish under .500, it probably wouldn't make any difference. That's sad.

The Sunshine Pumpers will still be hanging on. I'm one of them, if Fresno State could do it three years ago, we can too! Goooooooooo Shox! Whohoooo I am pumped for the MVC tournament!

Not too long ago 8 conference losses would happen in 3 seasons...combined. When is the line drawn in the sand? What is rock bottom?
