Gillaspie Called Up

I'm listening to the Marlins vs. Giants game on the radio and noticed Gillaspie was in the lineup. He was called up with Sandoval on the DL.

Conor went 1-3 in his debut before being pinch-hit for. His AAA stats were impressive.

Hooray! By the way, in 27 MLB AB's he has only 1 strikeout. This is a good sign. Just give more MLB AB's and he'll prove you right SF Manager.

Has he learned to play a position yet? He can hit. I'll give you that, but defensively he was well below average. I'm not sure he has the pop to stick at the MLB level without some defensive improvement, but maybe something has changed since he left.

looks like his opportunities are going to be limited with Joaquin Arias getting the AB's now.

Conor's current stats with Fresno has him in 2nd place in batting average (.288) and leading the team in HRs (14), and OBP (.807). Hopefully he will get called back up to the Giants soon.

I hadn't heard anything, but since he isn't on the roster any more he must have gotten re-assigned.

Actually he is still listed but he doesn't have a number by his name and there is an asterisks that says "not on active roster". So I don't know what that means.

That just means he's in the minors. One * indicates they're in the minors but on the 40-man. Two * means they're on the 60-day.
