UTSA to Conf USA and UTA, TSU going to Sunbelt.

DBU now on an island in the WAC. The Valley needs to kick the ISU's around and get DBU in, they need to do it ASAP.

DBU is Dallas Baptist. One of the reasons DBU accepted the WAC invitation was because the WAC was adding those other 3 Texas schools. If DBU is the only Texas school left in a very widely spread conference it might not interest them any more to go to the WAC. And if schools keep leaving the WAC they may have to fold.

I was able to find something on the net about the most recent WAC defections:

t looks like New Mexico St and Idaho are the only football playing members left in the WAC. And the only non-football playing members left are Denver, Seattle and Boise St.

The WAC is definitely near death.

We should add UTSA, UTA, TSU, and DBU for baseball only ASAP. We should at the very least re-extend our invitation to DBU tomorrow!

UTSA, UTA, and TSU all have new homes.

DBU could be up for grabs again.

Elgin needs to call DBU right now, fax an invitation and get this done before they figure out another option.

I'm confident that the MVC will fudge it up.

Unfortunately you are probably right. The MVC already screwed it up once.

why do you say the ISU's need to be kicked around? Wasn't it DBU's decision to not join the MVC? Don't understand this statement

It was the Indiana and Illinois schools lack of support that caused the Valley to drag their feet and not offer DBU a full fledged invitation to join the Valley as an affiliate member in baseball.

It was suppose to be a done deal, DBU was suppose to be playing as a Valley member this year. But then due to the Indiana & Illinois schoools, the Valley decided that 2012 would be a dry run only and after this season the Valley would decide to make a final decision on whether to add DBU or not. The delay by the Valley caused DBU to accept a bid from the WAC.

There was travel balking by some of the northern/eastern teams. This basically stalled the decision and DBU went where they were welcomed. Whether or not ISUb was balking I don't know, I do know ISUr was. I assume all eastern/northern teams balked. I just assume outside of CU/MSU/WSU no one else was eager to let them join before going thru this trial. Well DBU went ahead and joined with WAC as they didn't require some odd ball lets play a few shadow seasons then make a decision.

I just don't get it, it would mean 4 home and 4 away series instead of 4/3 uneven every year. Would add what amounts to a top 50 program, in a very rich recruiting area. The biggest part though to me is that in baseball it means you have to travel just once every two years. Heck have a cookie sale, lol.
