If it was really serious, I doubt he'd be walking out to shake hands with the team. This is an encouraging sign for the young fella. If it was torn or even slightly torn, he wouldn't be doing this. I'm just hoping it's slightly strained.

This season is a debacle, but any time we can sweep our in state brethren, it's a nice feeling.

Especially since we are now the 3rd best team in the state...

I will also say I'm proud of many of the young guys maturing as the season has gone on. There isn't as much of the knuckleheadedness and lack of effort that we saw earlier in the year. It's still there but it's not as prevalent.

And say what you will, but facts are facts and Oklahoma State is a game out of 2nd in the Big12.

Great win! I like all of the offense lately. 17 hits tonight after 33 this weekend. That is 50 hits in our last 4 games. Let's keep that up! The glimmer of hope remains alive.

And hey no matter what else happens this season WSU went undefeated against the big 12. That is a very nice feeling.

A very enjoyable evening tonight at the Eck. The Shox played great and the weather was nice.

Every starter contributed at the plate, they all either had at least one hit or scored a run. Johnny Coy had a huge night going 5 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles. The defense was good again and Dayne Parker just continues to make some unbelievably good defensive plays.

We finish the season 5-0 against the BIG 12. I love it! GO SHOX!

Micah hit the ball well tonight. He went 3 for 4. I think it might be his first 3 hit game of the season.

I thougth Johnny Coy may have had is best game as a Shocker last night. He made a very nice defensive play in the 2nd (I think it was) and on a night when a power guy would be tempted to drop and drive trying to take advantage of the gale blowing out to left Johnny simply drove the ball hard on a line to all parts of the field.

A single right to right, a single up the middle, two doubles down the left field line and a triple to right center. I hope Casey Gillaspie and the other guys were paying attention because the main thing with these new bats is to barrel the ball up and let the location of the pitch determine the direction.

Hope the Big Man's "injury" is only a minor one. We definitely need his bat in the lineup.

A guy I am feeling bad for is Kevin Hall who by all accounts if a very fine young man. While Kevin may be as good a defensive outfielder as WSU has ever had he is simply lost at the plate, especially when he has to deal with breaking pitches. Unfortunately, the book appears to be out on Kevin and if he sees a fastball in the strike zone you can bet the pitcher probably made a mistake.

I am sure it wasn't easy for Gene to sit Kevin down, but unfortunately, it became a necessity.

Not sure why you feel bad for him. Not everybody can be a good hitter in this life. He still gets PT as a defensive replacement late. Frankly this should have been the set up all year. I didn't understand the expectations for him this spring when he followed up a bad year at the plate with a terrible summer. Regardless that doesn't mean he isn't a fine young man or doesn't give 100 percent, just means he flat can't hit.

With his speed, if he could just learn to work counts and make contact other than pop flies, he could get on base a lot just due to the fielder being in a big hurry.

I feel bad for him because I like to see young people succeed. I feel bad for them when they do not. Am I supposed to feel happy for him that he has not been successful?

I am not saying he has been mistreated in anyway nor that he deserves any special treatment. He has been given more than a fair opportunity. I think the expectations for him were based on his strong play last fall. Obviously, the Shocks were not pitching him the way opponents have scouted him.

It's obvious he will succeed , just not in baseball like 99.9 percent of us. He got to play for a great program and got a little bit of school paid for because of it. I don't feel bad for him at all, it's all perspective.

No doubt. However, the perspective I was coming from was Kevin's performance as a Shocker baseball player.

So let me rephrase, I feel badly Kevin's college baseball career hasn't gone better for him, especially in his final year. However, he appears to be a very fine young man and will no doubt be successful in life.
