  • Dirks Back Up

Andy saw his first action for the 2012 season by going 2-4 with an RBI as DH today.

There are a number of Dirks threads, so thought this would be a fitting place to discuss the future of Andy for next season and beyond. Does he stay with Detroit (the big club), hang out in Toledo or go somewhere else now that Hunter has been signed to a 2-year deal? Maybe I'm biased, but I think Delmon Young is significantly overrated and the Tigers would be better suited to have a hard-nosed athlete like Dirks roaming the outfield than the pudgy younger brother of Dmitri.

Torii is replacing Delmon. DIrks will be with the big club and will serve as an outfielder that can play all three positions.

          Very interesting! Thanks for sharing.

Dirks is 2-3 so far tonight (with the HR) so maybe he's off the schneid

He's finally above the Mendoza line. Now hitting .211.
