  • WSU vs Cowley Fall Ball Game 1

4pm tomorrow first pitch. Might be a bit warm out there, bring a beverage and $5.

I imagine they'll play a long game to see as many players as possible.

Starting lineup really doesn't matter but this is my guess:

    LF Stark
    CF Ingram
    SS Rodden
    1B Pennington
    2B Herring
    3B Thornhill
    RF Stroh
    C Birge
    DH Rogers

Bye on the mound. Pure guess.

So how good were your guesses? Give us the exact starting lineup.

                Not close at ALL.

                McDonald CF
                Thornhill 3B
                Rodden 2B
                Ingram DH
                Tolle DH
                Rogers LF
                Stroh RF
                Williams C
                Herring SS

                Favors P

Garrett Pennington played 1st but did not bat.

Chuck and Stroh went yard. Jordan Rogers hit the ball hard every time at bat.

Wholesale changes after the 10th. Cannot remember the pitchers. Cranz relieved Favors and went a couple. Tim Arguello wasn't bad at all for a couple of innings. Nate Snead has a boatload of talent. Clark Candiotti battled for 3 innings, gave up a run but struck out a bunch with his nasty breaking stuff. Parker Dillhoff is a nice looking lefthander.

Jack Little belongs. He stole 3 bases and is a menacing presence on the basepaths. I'm too damned old to stay 18 innings, especially when the first 6 were in the high 90s.

Thanks. Not perfect but still good information.

I hope that Taylor will write some articles on the fall baseball team, and gather information from the coaching staff evaluations, etc. He is overworked, but this information would be appreciated.

I'm sure he will, but honestly I think it's a bit too early. They still have to decide on redshirts/cuts and they have 2 more exhibitions and then the FWS.

I'm sure he'll get to it after the games and roster decisions are made.

I should be able to see all of the game next Monday and I'll try to give a better report then.

The Shocks led 15-2 after 9 innings. According to the schedule on goShockers.com the final score after 18 innings was 23-12 meaning Cowley beat the Shocks 10-8 over final 9 innings.
