I'm a Gene supporter as I believe he has earned it. But if we're going to be just a .500 ballclub, I want Gene to just go out a recruit players who play with an attitude like Randy Young, Kevin Hooper, Andy Dirks, Josh Workman, Conner G., Mike Lansing, Eric Wedge, etc.

Those guys were dirtbags. Who cares if they produced .500 baseball, we'd be entertained by observing their attitude.
Ironically enough one of the hardest working players who played with that dirt bag attitude was Jim Thomas.

Yeah. I'm watching .500 ball now, if I have to deal with .500 ball in the future, might as well see it from players who play hard and don't give a damn about their bodies. That'd be more entertaining than watching and listening people broadcast about how the current team is just going through the motions. You pickin' up what I'm puttin' down?

I believe Gene said Bayliffe's achilles tendon in the ankle he broke was bothering him. Though he would be out a couple of weeks.

Garrett really does look like he is one of our more solid hitters, if not our best hiiter, and we really need him in the lineup. However, at this point where it is looking like we will need to win the Valley Tournament to advance to post-season play, the most important thing is to get Garrett healthy and back in the swing of thing the time the MVC Tournament rolls around.

I was not at the game but from the radio description it sounded like at least through the first half of the game we were doing a better job of utilizing the entire field and not just sitting back and trying to pull everything. I think JC's homer was to right of center wasn't it?

In any case, I think spraying the ball around and hitting it where it is pitched is very important for this team in partucular since, outside of Johnny, we have very little power. Hopefully, the guys were making adjustments to the way they were being pitched and just concentrated on making solid contact.

Let's see if there is any carryover this weekend against SIU.

It was a very good hitting performance up and down the line up on Wednesday. I hope it continues.
