For reference ECU scored 6.4 but only gave up 4.5.
This clears up a lot to me. Our hitting trended upward towards the end of the season, but our horrible slump was at a time we couldn’t hit it with a sheet of plywood. At one point we had no one batting .300 or better.

Great game in Stillwater. Man I hate watching these games in classic stadiums vs our erector set stadium.

ICYMI, tied at 1 going to the 9th, Texas State came up with a 2 out bases loaded single to score 2 and take a 3-1 lead to the bottom of the 9th at Stanford.

Just close the game and go to the Supers.

(New Pitcher) Home Run, Home Run (Another Pitching change) single, sacrifice, intentional walk, wild pitch (2nd & 3rd 1 out, no idea why they didn't walk this guy but), single, ball game.

          Stanford 4 Texas State 3.

The greatest team in the history of college baseball doesn’t make it out of the super regionals on their home field.

I assume you're referring to Tennessee losing to Notre Dame. My guess is they lost to Notre Dame because of the all dark-purple uniforms the Irish wore. Apparently, Notre Dame had to borrow some uniforms from Northwestern.

Probably not the start ECU was looking for today.

Texas goes single, stolen base, walk and then the Hispanic Titanic hits number 32 on the year. 3-0 Longhorns.

A hit by pitch and we’ve got a pitching change with no outs in the top of the 1st.

With ECU leading the series 1-0 they took a 7-2 lead heading in to the bottom of the 7th in game 2 yesterday. Texas scored 2 in the 7th, 4 in the 8th to take an 8-7 lead. ECU tied it up in the top of the 9th with a home run but Texas walked it off in the bottom of the 9th with a 2-out bases loaded single to tie the series at 1 all.

Texas has carried the momentum over into game 3 as they have scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st and with only 1 out when the rains came. Currently in a rain delay with Texas having a runner on 1st and only 1 out. The rain delay won't impact ECU's pitching much as the starter had already been pulled before the delay was called.

Things not looking good at all for the Pirates.

In the 1st game of their super-regional against #2 Stanford, UConn jumped on Stanford's #1 guy and put up 1 in the 1at and 8 in the second. UConn still lead by 9 at 13-4 heading in to the bottom of the 7th and then hung on for a 13-12 win despite being out-homered by Stanford 8-2.

Ole Miss eliminates #11 Southern Miss with back-to-back shutouts to punch its ticket to Omaha.

So for 3 of the 4 teams that have advanced to Omaha are unseeded.

Back under way in Greenville. Kudos to the Pirate fans still there, 6 hours later.

ECU goes with freshman fireballer Trey Yesavage and he gets out of the 1st with no more damage. Again, credit to the fans and the ECU players...if you tuned in and didn't know it, you'd think ECU was not behind 4-0 in the 1st.

Pirates coming to bat for the first time.

Texas is going with Tristen Stevens on the mound. He threw 14 pitches on Friday and 9 yesterday. Not a ton of work, but that's getting hot a lot in 3 days. ECU gets a leadoff single.

Agnos singled, Hoover singled. 1st & 3rd nobody out. Stevens went 3-0 on Worrell and Godwin gave him the green light. He flied out, no advance. (Terrible decision imho). Jacob Jenkins-Cowart, the AAC Tourney MVP, flied out on the 1st pitch, scoring Agnos. Newton flies out on the first pitch. Way too antsy for my taste, especially given the start Stevens had. 4-1 after 1.

Don't think I'll make the end of this game. Top 2 and Texas already has 1 in and 2 on with the Hispanic Titanic up again (Yesavage is out and CJ Mayhue is in for ECU). The ECU catcher has struggled mightily (Ben Newton) so far. PB/WP and then they walk Melendez and his 32 home runs. Bases loaded, still nobody out. 0-2 and Staley drives one to center than Worrell stupidly dives for (and misses) and 2 runs score. 7-1, 2nd and 3rd and still nobody out. Sac fly and Mayhue is out and yesterday's starter, Josh Grosz is in. Josh threw 51 pitches yesterday, but sure, heat him up again today. Bloop single and it's now 9-1. WP. K and there's 2 out. Walk, and the Horns have batted around. 1st and 2nd, 2 outs and Faltine is up again. Grosz looked good the first few pitches but now seems to be laboring. Faltine flies out to fairly deep left center and the inning mercifully comes to an end. 9-1 Texas, going to the bottom of the 2nd.

Texas has been to 37 of the 74 CWS. ECU has been to 32 NCAA tourneys without seeing Omaha once. Those trends, as of now, look to continue. But this has been a crazy postseason.

An error on the UT 1st baseman and the ECU leadoff batter is aboard.

Former Shocker Brady Slavens (who left WSU because he was a shortstop and the coaches said he wasn't going to play shortstop. He never played SS at Arkansas, mostly DH'd this year) walked off UNC in the bottom of the 9th with a single to send the Hogs to Omaha 4-3. UNC led 3-2 going to the last of the 9th.

ECU goosed it again. 0 for 32.

Stevens throws 80 through 5. Texas coach says "he wants the ball". Well, the adults don't seem to control anything these days so let him have it. Texas gets out of a potential jam thanks to a bad call and an indefensible non overturn of a call at 1st. Clearly the ECU runner was safe, tie at worst, but the double play stands and this game is all but over. 10-1 top 6.

ECU pitcher is now Garrett Saylor. He threw 57 pitches yesterday. He's at 40 tonight, in a 10-1 game. Different ideas for some coaches.
