The 0-2 pitches were just headscratchers all day long.

And I cannot explain the change in fielding from last season. We were so solid defensively all year, and this year....just ugh.

5 regulars are hitting below Andrew Stewart......I don't even know what to say about that.

Will Stevens took a huge step backwards today. I can't think of one thing positive from this afternoon...which is exactly like the team looked.

Everything is a 2nd guess....and there is no confidence right now. That's a bad formula to play winning baseball.

I'm glad I don't have to come up with any answers because I don't have any. We should be better than this.....a lot better, but we aren't.

And the schedule isn't getting any easier. Mo State is solid, UH is a team opposite of us, playing well with what they have and playing with a lot of confidence, OSU is a top 10 team and ECU is figuring it out after a slow start. 8 of the next 11 are on the road.

Not the same team on the field. It changes game to game. When a whole team can’t hit or lacks confidence, I think you have to look to how they’re being coached.

Jesus God Almighty! We're getting throttled by a ****ing tiny, no-name Jesuit school, playing in a conference filled with club teams.

I mean.. exactly how much were we cheating in the 80's/90's? And don't give me the "landscape changed" bullchit. We were 10 runs better than the average Valley team back in the day. I know for a FACT many of the boys were on 'roids during the 90's. Today's product is ****ING embarrassing!

It's time for some innovative ideas. Funneling money into buildings and playing fields clearly isn't working. It's time to start funneling money into mom and dad. Start offering fully paid, pro-level camps with each commitment, "loaner cars", whatever...

Meanwhile these ****ING ChicKUns are galivanting around the tournament pretending like they aren't the MOST corrupt school in the entire NCAA.

WHAT ****ING UNIVERSE AM I LIVING IN????????

JUSTICE! You ***** feckless, NCAA P-O-Shits.

It is not very good. Yesterday was 1,693 (that probably seats sold, not buts in seat). Not enough to have any kind of fan atmosphere.

In the past on Saturday afternoon with nice weather, there would have been 4,000+

I continue to teeter widely in my thoughts about this team and the program’s direction. Today’s game is no different.

Pretty clear this year is not the year. It feels like a step back thus far. However there’s still so many young pieces. Bye’s outing today is super encouraging. As are the bats.

Weird concoction of things have happened. Nothing really clear.

They are so inconsistent right now, but look at who they are relying on. Hardly any seniors have played a big role, besides Cadena and Holden. Lots of guys new to D1 or stepping into new roles at this level. Cam Bye is going to be a stud. I think he has better stuff than Tolle, and that’s no knock on Tolle.

                          I have the same thoughts.

I just wish some of the regulars from last year would show some more improvement?

Getting that start from Bye before AAC play starts feels huge.

Move Bye to Friday, slide Jace and Tolle. That hasn’t been the main issue but feel it would help.

Really nice work by Cameron Bye today as he records his first quality start of what hopefully will be many more. The Shocker offense was solid, they swere aggressive on the base paths and took advantage of enough opportunities to be in control most of the game.

But as Earl Weaver said: "In basebal, momentum is only as good as the next game's starter".

Looks like the Shocks weekend starters are pretty much locked in at this point but the mid-week games remain a crap shoot.

Let's see what the Shocks can piece together for the 2 mid-week games with Missouri State and and Kansas this week. I expect we will see a Johnny Wholestaff effort.

The distant past, like 2009 and before.
