I want you to bookmark this for later in the season and see if it holds true…. It’s two games. Great start? Goodness no. Pretty early, though.
see you at the CKA tomorrow?
I’ve said before that we have a “Stud” HC on our baseball team whose jobs in MLB was to manage personnel and coaching staffs. He also has a superb resume as a catcher and handler of pitchers. I trust him more than Fan Central to make pitching and pitching coach decisions.
Additionally, Pelfrey has been doing a fantastic job of landing Top Pitching Recruits and our Freshman class is beginning to show progress in that area. Until the 2022 class, we’ve been piecing together a lot of transfers and Juco pitchers on our staff. I still like Jace and Tolle as our Top starters even though our pen faltered
So I was listening to the game on the radio, and when Wedge brought in Adler in the 8th, Adler got one out off a fly ball and also struck a dude out (finally we struck someone out). Then one of LA Tech's best batters hit a double and Adler got yanked. That surprised me and felt premature. Even though one of LA Tech's best batters got a double, one of their other batting studs was coming up and Adler was mostly warmed up with a little success. At this point the game was still tied.
Was it obvious Adler needed to be yanked, if you were able to actually watch the game?

If I have counted correctly this year the roster inlcudes 6 juco transfers and 5 D-1 transfers on the roster. 8 of those 11 are new to the roster this year.
How many of those guys are on the active roster I do not know. goShockers.com lists 39 players on the roster. I believe only 35 can be on the active roster.
The Shocks list 5 position players (4 juco and 1 D-1) transfers among the position players. 4 of those 5 are new to the roster this year.
Not sure how that compares to Wedges 2 prior seasons but it still seems like a fairly healthy portion of the roster is coming via jucos and transfers.

They were playing the % bringing in a lefty to face another lefty. Of course, it backfired.
Ryan Stuempfig (12) Right-Handed Pitcher - 2022 Redshirt Junior
Made 15 appearances out of the Shocker bullpen...finished 0-3 with a 10.61 ERA in 18.2 innings...allowed
I think you were either emotional when you said this or your memory isn’t good. Stumpy isn’t always good, but his career resume out of the pen has been quite good over his years. The last two years, he’s been consistently good.
