  • Shox vs. Texas-Arlington

Shox begin a 2 game home series with Texas-Arlington tonight at 6:30pm (note the early start) and finish with a 3pm game on Wednesday.

UTA beat us twice last year 3-6 at the Dallas Baptist Tournament and 3-9 at Arlington.

Time for the Shox to get a little revenge.

Just like how we got revenge against Hawaii last weekend after they had took 3 of 4 from us last year. We win 90 percent of our March games, all hope will be restored.

Seems like a pretty brutal schedule to go from 4 straight games in hawaii to playing in Kansas roughly 48 hours later.

Wind is blowing out like crazy, I like WSU's rrrr I mean UTA's chances at some serious long ball activity. Then I believe Tulane this weekend. Really have a tough go to begin this 20 game home stand.

Lack of execution costs Shocks a run in the bottom of the 1st. Scoreless after 1.

No, but I did see him post a comment in Kansas.com about the new pizza joint on Douglas. He enjoyed his slice of pizza.

Shocks down 4-0 going into the bottom of the 6th. They have runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

Micah Green pinch hits for Donnie Lambert and strikes out. Wild pitch moves the runners up a base.

Infield single by Dayne Parker drives in a run. Runners at 1st and 3rd with one out.

Tyler Coughenour with a bloop, wind blown single drives in a run. Runners on 1st and 2nd with one out.

Kevin Hall strikes out after working the count to 3 and 1.

Garrett Bayliff draws a walk to load the bases with 2 outs.

Eric Harbutz with a key at bat. Strikes out to end the inning.

Shocks scratch out 2 runs in spite of themselves to narrow the gap to 4-2 after 6.

Shocks were the beneficiary of 3 walks and 2 scratch hits but 3 strikeouts squashed any chance for a big inning.

What just took place in the bottom of the 6th is why WSU sucks.

Like I said execution would win them a lot more games. Gene is an old man and needs to retire, coaching kids is a young mans game (granted by young I just mean not eligible to collect SS).

Shocks get another gift in the 7th with an error allowing the Shocks leadoff hitter on base. But Shocks follow-up with a fly to center, pop-up to short and ground out to short.

I don't really blame Gene for not bunting the runner over as we had Casey Gillaspie at the plate after the error, although they way Casey is going he may not hit his weight this year.

Harbutz with a huge 2 RBI single to tie this thing up at 4. Unbelievable.

Coy then singles to right center. Harbutz scores all the way from 1st on the play. All of this is happening on 2 outs. WSU now leads 5-4. Boy did I start listening at the right time...

                        Shox win.

Nice clutch hitting for a change against a good team.

                        Elam is the man.

Nice 2-out clutch hitting by Eric and Johnny. Way to hang and battle Shocks. Wasn't looking very good, but Shocks got 'er done at the end.

Parker had a real nice AB to get things going.Fought off some tough pitches to draw a walk.

Good for the fellas', hopefully this will serve as a springboard! Overcoming some adversity together may bring some much needed confidence!
