  • Collegiate Baseball Preseason Top 50

    CB’s preseason poll is out

Shocks do not make the Top 50, but are listed in the unranked “others” category.

    Notable:
    7. Oklahoma State
    8. East Carolina
    15. Louisiana Tech
    45. Oklahoma

    Others:
WSU, USF, UCF, Tulane, Washington State, Iowa, Texas A&M, ORU, Texas A&M-CC, Creighton, FAU, Charlotte.

Likely more than 30 games against the top 110 teams per this ranking.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

I didn't count, are there 60 others listed?

New Mexico, South Dakota State, Pepperdine, KU, KState, Missouri State & Texas State among non-conference foes aren't listed.

In conference, Cincinnati, Memphis and Houston aren't there.

Of note, conference additions Charlotte & Florida Atlantic are in the mix. Right now, this is a good move for baseball at least.

Is the entire NCAA ranked or receiving votes in this poll?

36% of D1 Baseball Programs are listed, so ... yay.

So we are listed as 69. Not a bad position to be in.
