Lambert beats out a double play ball to keep the inning alive. Michel Mucha hits the ball back to the pitcher to end the game.

He didn't bunt, he grounded into a DP. I wish it would have been a bunt, since that is what he should have been doing in that situation. That is just dumb baseball, late in the game and you are not the 1998 team. Make an adjustment Gene, new bats, non hitting teams, no power, and you refuse to play the percentages of baseball. And now you are doing it again in the 9th. Casey hitting .100 and you don't bunt him, really??

The Shockers actually out hit Hawaii tonight 10 to 5 but could only score one run (on a solo home run). The Shox left 8 men on base. Dayne Parker goes 3 for 3 tonight. Ryan Hege gets a home run. The Hawaii TV announcers are talking about the great defensive plays that Hawaii made tonight to get the win.

The Hawaii TV postgame show is long. They are interviewing players. They are talking about what a huge victory it is to get the first two games against a team the caliber of WSU.

Game 3 starts at 5:05 pm tomorrow CST.

10 hits and 1 run?? Play the game, with the team that you have. Good pitching, marginal hitting, get them over and get them in. Adapt to what you have, you can have lots of success if you put your team in a situation to be successful.

Shane Dennis was stumbling all over himself on this play tryiing to express his thoughts without coming right and saying what you could tell he really thought. Let's just say it was obvious Shane did not think is smart, fundamental baseball and leave it that.

Also in describing the play during the inning the Hawaii scored their 1st run Shane said that SS Dayne Parker must have lost a ground ball in the lights or never saw it come off the bat. The way he described it it was a ball hit pretty much right at him and he took two steps to his left and the ball went by him for a single. I believe there was a man on 1st at the time. Anyone who was watching the game see that?

BTW, based on Shane's play-by-play Hawaii has indeed made a good number of very fine defensive plays in the first two games.
