Wow! Who would have thought we would get well against ORU even with them getting off to a slow start. They just seemed to have owned us in recent years.

Is Ryan Hege laying claim to the catching position? Sounds like it.

Sounds like Kris Gardner with a very impressive outing in his Shocker debut. Always helps when your teammates (Ryan and Donnie, in particular) execute the Earl Weaver strategy.

Hopefully, the guys were just too uptight in the opening games in Texas as suggested by Shane.

TJ gives up a HR. Now 10-2 Shox, one out in the 7th. Former Shocker Nate Goro up to bat. He is 0 for 2. But scored ORU's first run after he got on base on an error.

Any chance in hell that Ryan Hege could leg out a triple? I guess if the outfielder's collide.

Ryan definitely needs to be in the starting line up. He has hit the ball well with power.

He is also a versaltile player who can play 1st base and outfield as well as catcher.

Shox get their 16th hit! Ryan Hege, probably the Shockers hottest hitter coming to bat.

Shox have runners on first (Hege walked) and second (Micah Green) with just one out in the 8th. Walker Davidson coming to bat.

And he can always DH as an option to keep his bat in the lineup. I would love to see him have a big year, especially considering he left the team late last year after a disagreement/misunderstanding (?) with the Coaching staff. Glad to see that both sides were mature enough to work it out.

Kevin Hall has 3 hits in one game, tying a career high. Shox leave 2, after 7 1/2 Shocks still up 10-2.

I thought Micah Green also hit the ball well in Texas.

Shox bringing Drew Rainey in to pitch.

Anyone know if Jake O'Brien at ORU (freshman from Tulsa) is any relation to Chris O'Brien?

Walks the first one and hits the second, Kemnitz to the mound.

Drew Rainey not off to a good start. Gives up a lead off walk. Now 2 on with no outs and Drew Rainey hits his second batter.

No sense leaving Drew in the game. Will do more harm than good to his psyche at this point.
