          • Heart of the Shocker lineup went down meekly and in order in the Shocker 6th.

            • Really can't afford to let OSU have any more runs in this one.

              • They followed up their 5-spot by putting up a zero and then scoring 2 more.

We followed up our 4-spot by allowing 2 and then going 1-2-3 in the middle of the lineup.

Also, I vote for trying a new SS.

                  • 3 unearned runs on a dinger after we couldn't field a routine groundball.

That is true but Gifford had 2 outs and a runner on 1st and he was the one to walk a batter and then give up the big fly. Sometimes the defense or offense has to pick up the pitcher and sometimes the pitcher has to pickup his defense and offense.

You won't win many games especially against teams as good as OSU scoring only 1 run as the Shocks did yesterday and you won't win many giving up 12 runs to a team like that either.

That said I agree we probably need to try someone else in place of Clemons. Not sure we are doing his confidence any favors by leaving him in the lineup.

Agreed all the way around. Just unfortunate. Gifford finally cruised through an inning, and then it wasn't over and it went sideways on him. And if you're not going to be a major plus in the field, you're gonna need to strike out less than half the time.

                        • So we have two guys named Stroh on this year's roster.

Are they selling Stroh's Beer at the concession stand as well?

Gareth Stroh gives up 2 runs in the 8th and lucky it wasn't more as he wasn't fooling much of anyone hitting for the Pokes.

At this point in this game there is no reason not to give someone else a look even if brief.

                            • Another runner on third with less than 2 outs stranded. At least the Shocks are consistent.

                              • Andrew Stewart is on at SS in the top of the 9th. He is due up 5th in the 9th. So he may or may not get an AB.

So it looks like Aaron Haase might be filling the Shocker closer role this year. Not a closer situation today but perhaps want to get him in for inning in this series.

Aaron sets OSU down in order in the 9th. The first 1-2-3 inning for Shocker pitchers today.
