Kyle Bouman
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

I think that Albert needs to get off of his butt and get a job.An “Old West” Texas analysis and summary of Mueller report and Congress’ efforts in one sentence:
"While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it."

Sounds like something the NCAA would do. The parents are at fault, but since DeSmet has no way to get to them, they penalize Kyle.
So if WSU was willing, could Kyle drop out, go back home, enter a public school to complete his final semester, while his family re-files for bankruptcy (as much as this practice is distasteful) including DeSmet. He probably wouldn't qualify to play ball at school, but could pick up on a summer team. I'd also think that his father find whatever kind of work he could, regardless of his education.
Next year, Kyle comes back to WSU.

Sad situation, both for WSU and especially for Kyle Bouman, who presumably would be stuck this same way no matter where he planned to try to further his baseball career and education.
What an odd story, too: "(Albert Bouman) has not had a job in years. He seldom goes out of the house." So Kyle's dad knows his responsibility in the matter, but seems unwilling -- at least based on the article -- to do anything about it except feel bad. I don't live in the Boumans' neighborhood, and I realize he isn't among those favored by the regime in Washington, like "green energy" boondogglers, public sector union workers, or fat cat Wall Street cronies (obviously he was far too low on the brokerage totem pole). Even so, I can say with confidence that if you genuinely want to make a financial contribution to your family, and your personal history doesn't contain some deep, dark secret not mentioned in the article, it is literally impossible to remain unemployed for years. One day's driving around would reveal enough help wanted signs that Mr. Bouman could certainly get himself some sort of job, however unfancy it might be, and earn at least something to put toward the cause.
I'm also disappointed in the school's "rules are rules" attitude. I'm a fan (and beneficiary of) Catholic education, but it strikes me as inconsistent at best for DeSmet to thank the Boumans for applying the bankruptcy rules unevenly to themselves in a way that retained the family's debt to the school, but then insist on applying their diploma rules evenly in a way that holds captive the son of the parents who did them that favor. Like the Kevin Ross debacle at Creighton some years ago, this is not the Jesuits' finest hour. Boo, DeSmet. It's almost enough to make me wish I were a contributor so I could cut them off.

A De Smet Jesuit High School graduate got an early Christmas present when four couples paid a delinquent tuition bill that would have kept the teen from returning to Wichita State University for his second semester.

Merry Christmas to you, to the generous folks who helped out Kyle Bouman, and to all of the Shockernetters.

The team/school may suffer but Kyle won't and that is the main thing. As WSU is NOT a bcs school they may be punished unlike auburn and others that are aloud to cheat with no punishment from the turds.First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.
