Are the rumors true that Don Lambert and Dillon Kerans have left the program? If so I don't think losing these two is much of a loss anyways. Kerans couldn't break 80 mph and I heard Don "Day Day" Lambert caused issues.

Dillon isn't on the current 35-man roster listed on goShockers.com and he struggled during the FWS so if he has decided to move on that would not be especially newsworthy.
I have no comment regarding your comments about Don Lambert. I will say that your post about Johnny Coy moving to catcher to make room for Casey Gillaspie at 1st base seems pretty far-fetched.Last edited by _kai_; October 24, 2011, 07:01 PM. Reason: Deleted part of post that was user related.

Hanika,
Are you the same J. Hanika that attempted to walk on at WSU this fall? I can't speak to Don Lambert's situation about transferring, but perhaps I can offer some insight to Dillon Kerans' situation since I am familiar with the family.
1. Dillon is transferring out of the program at this time on very good terms with his teammates and the WSU staff.
2. Dillon has been rehabbing an injury that occured in El Dorado this summer while he was "no-hitting" the Broncos through 4 complete innings. (Was removed from the game 1 pitch into the 5th inning when he experienced tightness in forearm and elbow.)
3. Incidentally, if you were to ask the Shockers in attendance that night they would tell you he was 89-92 mph with lots of movement on the fastball. (Bob Arens, Tyler Coughenour, Zach Stucky, Josh Halbert, Don Lambert and I think Rea?)
4. a) True freshman year he was asked to work on a grip change and struggled with control upon changing along with a blistering/skin issue on finger.
b) Asked to redshirt because there were approximately 20 pitchers on staff.
c) Grip change may have had an impact on the forearm/elbow tightness.
5. Kerans needed to go where he could continue re-building his arm strength, stamina and confidence, so it made sense for him to look at transferring. His velocity has not completely returned, when it does, he can be a handful. WSU was his dream school, he has had some bad timing with regard to redshirt, injury, and recovery but don't bet against him you may see him again at WSU in the future.
Here's to wishing Dillon, Don, and you good luck going forward.

Can Don tansfer he is a red shirt senior and with the new transfer rules he would have to sit out a year and would be a 6 year senior that was not injured???First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

shock10, I believe you are correct as far as a D-1 to D-1 transfer is concerned. Don redshirted his freshman year at Baylor so this would be his 5th year. You have 5 years to use your 4 years of eligibility so his eligibility is used up this year absent a 6th year granted for medical reasons.
Edit: I suppose if a player in Don's situation has received his degree he could transfer without sitting out a year, although I am not sure if this applies in the same way to mid-year transfers or not.Last edited by 1972Shocker; October 25, 2011, 09:45 AM.
