  • 2012 Schedule

Wow! A 19-game home stand. That may be a first in the 56-game season era.

Edit: Make that a 20-game home stand. I missed the DH with Purdue.

Let's hope Mother Nature is cooperative come March.

Nice to see that Long Beach State is back on the schedule after some time off with that series.

I guess the Oregon series was a one year deal? No return home series or is that pushed back a year?

Overall, a pretty nice schedule. Gonna be an interesting year again.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

Holy cow, I'm going to have to get a sleeping bag and a cot and just sleep over.

The good news is that we have a 20 game home stand including several good games. The bad news is that it is in March. I hope the weather cooperates.

Unfortunately we only play 4 home games in May.

But overall I like the schedule there are several good home games.

Oregon opted out of their return to Wichita, that is why Purdue is on the schedule.

I didn't know you could just opt out of contract like that. Was there any penalty for this? That would have been a fun series to play at home.

            Thanks for the info.

I beleive that Oregon did have to pay WSU a few $$ to opt out.

Overall it looks like a pretty good schedule.

I am looking forward to the trip to San Marcos in February. I am also glad to see Long Beach coming back to Wichita. I just hope we have decent weather in March for that 20 game homestand. (I will be there regardless, but I hope I don't have to dress like an eskimo too many times).

By my count there are 6 weeks that we will need 5 starting pitchers. Is this the rotation? Josh Smith, Mitch Mormann, Albert Minnis, Kris Gardner, and A J Ladwig...
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

That would be my guess also.

getting these 60 degree days in January means we are going to pay in March....but I guess I will enjoy them as they come.

Fear not, SB. Check with Al Gore or even his acolyte James Hansen, and they'll tell you that you can plan to go the games in March wearing shorts. It's just a good thing we're old enough that we don't have to worry about rising sea levels flooding Eck Stadium -- we'll be gone by then.

You might see Bouman get a start, but I agree with shock10 and '72...
