Don't be surprised if Creighton tries to bunt a run home with runners at 1st and 3rd and 1 out.

Now with 2 outs watch for a possible double steal.

Cal Carver looks like he could be really tough on lefty hitters.

Cal Carver relieves Clayton and works out of 1st and 3rd 1 out situation and it's bottom 5, Shocks still trail 3-1.

Shocks go VERY quietly in the 5th. 3-1 Jays.

              VERY indeed!

Carver wild in the 6th......bases loaded, 1 in so far. Still one out on a double, 2 walks and HBP. Not sure why he's still in. 4-1 feeling like 10-1 anytime.

Cal gets out of it on a well time double play. Thank goodness. 4-1 still. Shocks have to start hitting the ball. BJs have stranded 9 through 6.

Ragan, the CU pitcher is just throwing strikes, daring the Shocks to hit it. Which we aren't. Only 66 pitches so far.

Lol and of course Ragan loses complete control and hits Boyer and Ritter after maybe hitting Boyer earlier in the count.

2 on, nobody out. The Shocks MUST take advantage here. Play with confidence and let's get some runs!

Cu probably kicked a DP getting a FC. 1st and 3rd, 1 out. Cu gifts us a run with a balk. Runner on 2nd now, still just 1 out.

Mason walks and it's back to 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Ed Servais is out to make a pitching change. Big at bat coming up.

Helluva nice rally by Shockers in the bottom of the 6th.

No kidding. Good fight from the guys. A nice easy 1-2-3 7th would be a bit much to ask at this point, right?

Apparently that's right. But no harm done.

Boy was Ross Cadena due. He battled at the end of last season and I was expecting big things this year and it just hasn't been that way at all. Good to see him ready to swing the bat in a big spot and drive in the tying and go ahead run.

Tommy Barnhouse in to pitch the 7th. Leadoff walk followed by a wild pick off attempt gives CU a runner at 2nd. Tommy gets a K and then a first pitch groundout to 3rd with Wallace doing a nice job of keeping the runner at 2nd. Barnhouse promptly walks the next batter on 4 pitches and it's 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. We continue to nibble too much.

Mike P on to calm Tommy. Need to get this guy.

                    Ball 5. Grrrrrr

Boom. Mike gets it done, settling Tommy and he gets the K and out of the 7th. Stretch time, 5-4 Shocks.

Shadows are now half way between home and the pitchers mound. Should be a bit of an advantage for the Shocks. Just need 6 more outs.

Nothing doing in the 7th. Oh, for 6 outs here.

Tommy gets the first 2 batters in the 8th and Segal is on to face a dangerous lefty.
