Thanks for posting this 1972Shocker. I remember Sam's baseball cards as he started playing in the majors the same time I started my collection. He has quite the background with NC St athletics. I knew that he was one of Norm Sloan's basketball assistants during part of his very successful tenure as head baseball coach. I didn't know the story of how he handled the situation of having a baseball game the same day as NC St was playing for the national title in basketball. Funny story that is in the video of the linked article below.
