2 walks, wild pitch, HBP, bases juiced, no outs. Cleanup hitter up.

Followed by GIDP and a run scored.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

1-0 UConn to the bottom of the 1st, Shocks fortunate to avoid a much worse outcome.

Hopefully the bats are warmed up this afternoon.

3 walks and an HBP in the 1st, but UConn only manages 1 run. That's alright. Probably the bigger negative is that Heuer had to throw 30 pitches.

Giving up runs without allowing a hit is rarely ideal.

We’ll see if the UConn pitcher has any issues with the mound.

Shocks trailing by only 1 after what transpired in the top of the first is about as good as it could get.

Pitch count is overrated if said pitcher can’t find the zone anyways.

Fair. Are you watching? I think there was something legitimately wrong with the mound. He was still rather wild after that was resolved.

Nope. Still at work. Just listening.

I know there was an issue but I dunno, seems like it was kinda overblown.

I guess it got fixed because the UConn pitcher had zero issues.

There was a ton of loose soil on the surface. They removed a bunch of it and got it wetted down the 2nd time they came out. He was clearly pitching normally after that. Now, he was still somewhat wild.

lol fatass umpire robs Bohm of an extra base on that single, good grief.

Wow. Bohm got screwed by a bad bounce off the ump at 3rd. That thing was going to rattle around in the LF corner, but instead ended up in shallow left for a single.

                Troutwine walks.

UConn starter laboring in the first as well, struggling with control. 20 pitches and counting.

That was a Glavine-at-his-peak strike zone, wow.

Would have required a cricket swing to hit it.

Not like it was one of those that hit the glove like he was aiming there, either. Catcher almost had to move to block it.

That pitch was so far inside, it checked Croft for a hernia.

Seeing Croft take a hanging curve strike three for the third out is maddening!

New plan for Heuer: Throw fastballs down the middle.

He got 3 fly balls to center on them in the 2nd.

Nice bounceback by Codi in the 2nd, 1-2-3 on 10 pitches.

                      1-0 UConn to B2.
