  • Proposed RPI Changes for 2013

    theoretically should help WSU.

For the 2013 season, the RPI (Ratings Performance Index) will be revised to value a road victory as 1.3 instead of 1.0 as it is done today. Each home win will receive a 0.7 value instead of 1.0. Neutral site games will remain at 1.0. The NCAA stated home teams win 62% of all games. This will replace the bonus/penalties awarded today.

Why not impliment this immediately? I know it is never done this way but a good idea for 2013 is a good idea for 2012.

Maybe Texas will actually have to play some non-conference road games?

Looks like taking one of three on the road (1.3) and 2 of three @ home (1.4) will have virtually the same effect on RPI.

Probably because schedules are set for 2012.
