Shock10, Shelley of the WSU baseball office told me today that after quitting the team this spring, Ryan Hege changed his mind and is going to be on the 2012 baseball roster. That ought to bolster catching depth. Ryan might be a good candidate for DH at times, too.
What was the reason for him originally leaving?
Reports are there was an irrational blow-up between him and Kemnitz late in the season where Arens got a start after Hege had been told he would start. Hege packed-up and left.

Basketball Season Tix since '77-78 . . . . . . Baseball Season Tix since '88
dude hit .305 with 4 homeruns, no offense to him but #### is wrong with WSU recruiting when it comes to offense?
what were his other numbers?
.399 OBP, 35 rbi and 48 runs in 52 games. Those numbers would be OK at D1 level but they are at JUCO. He seems to have been quite the stud in high school and went to Missouri originally for his freshman year. He may prove me wrong, I just see another .250 hitter out of this. I hope he does prove me wrong though. Maybe after a full season of JUCO and another season of summer ball some things will start to click for him.
Kale has been playing summer ball with the Valley Center Diamond Dawgs. Through 60 ABs he was hitting .400.
Thats good to see, like I said I hope it's just getting some time under his belt. He hardly had any playing time his freshman year (like most freshman at descent programs) so this was his first full season.
Regardless I probably should have kept my mouth shut. If anything he is another experienced player that can add competition for positions next season.
What about Mitch? I think he will be a weekend starter. Not sure if Eric's shoulder will be ready for 3rd base. There are a LOT of jobs wide open. I can't wait until fall ball.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.
