Vickers and Boyer both cost WSU an out this half inning by failing to make a play on a wild pitch (Vickers failed to glove Troutwine's throw which appeared to be on time to nail the runner at 2nd) and fielder's choice (Boyer threw it about 75 feet instead of 90 and it bounced past 1B). No errors but poor defense, at least one of which will cost the Shockers a run.

Tyler Davis on in relief. 3-0 Mizzou, runner at 1st with 2 out in the bottom of the 3rd.

Alright. So far playing like doggy doo but also somehow avoiding getting stomped to this point. Time to get some positive things going

Cheap suit. This is basically ALL self-inflicted.

Aaaaaaand pickoff goes to the wall to let in another run. This is pathetic.

5 walks, 3 HBP, 3 wild pitches, 2 recorded errors, and several other free bases from terrible fielding.

And this is why you had to be cautious with this team based on a record that feasted on weaklings.

Typical Butler game when he plays a team with a pulse:

              1) Non-competitve
              2) We make their midweek pitcher look like Cy Young
              3) A comedy of errors on the mound and in the field; a little league type showcase

Really putting up a fight at the plate, too. 2 hits in 6 innings, 64 pitches for their pitcher.

At least we didn't walk the leadoff man in the 6th?

Back within a grand slam, so that's a plus

Mizzou stretches it back out to 5 on a strikeout. Pretty well sums this one up.

9-1. More free passes, more free outs, more free bases.

                        Wholly. Uncompetitive.

Anomaly? Or big ol dose of reality?

Good effort boys. At least you don’t have to stay in that shithole Columbia overnight. The bus ride home should be enjoyable.

Itll be interesting to see what kinda spin is put out on this one: “it’s just one of those games”, “we never did well in midweek games with Gene anyways”, “we’re still 12-3”, “we were due for some errors”.

I knew we weren’t gonna win but even I didn’t see it going this badly. SAME OLD, SAME OLD.

0 for 1 to start the “let’s prove it” tour.

Alright. We managed to break up the midweek CG.

We did plenty to give the game away, but thank god MU couldn't execute either. They left 10 on base or this could have been really ugly.

LOL thrown out trying to advance on a ball in the dirt. When down by 6. I just. What? Have you heard of baseball before?

                                This is approaching stealing money.

Just another head scratcher to add to tonight's list of things to work on. Although that is the kind of thing that shouldn't have to be taught to 3rd year college players.
