Went to the bull pen and watched Pelfrey warmup, very impressive.
When he got done I was leaning over the rail with a several other guys, I yelled GO SHOX, he turned around looked up directly at me saw my yellow Shocker shirt and threw me the warm up ball!
I felt like a 15 year old kid again.
He then went out and threw a complete game and helped the Mets beat the Reds for the third straight night.
It was a great evening. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Mike Pelfrey entered Terry Collins' office for a closed-door meeting before Saturday to discuss his comments in the New York Post saying it was "unrealistic" to expect the Mets to win it all in 2011.
Mike spoke the truth but he needs to keep those feelings quiet.

Expert recap and game analysis of the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. New York Mets MLB game from August 13, 2011 on ESPN.
Afterward, Pelfrey had to field questions about a story in the New York Post in which he appeared to be critical of the Mets' personnel. He said his comments were misinterpreted in an interview that he thought had been positive.
"I didn't think I said a negative thing," he said. "That is why I was shocked."
After meeting with Pelfrey before the game, manager Terry Collins agreed with his pitcher.
"It was a tough day for him," Collins said. "He came into the ballpark getting ready to pitch and he gets hammered on things he didn't expect. Then he gets hit by a line drive on one of the days he has some of his best stuff."
I read the story and didnt see anything Bad he said. He was very complimentary in the mets future and how he hoped he would be with them next year. But I guess when you are a NY team and 20 games behind in august you have to find something to write about even if it is contrived.
