Didn't hurt that the majority of the teams on our schedule won yesterday. McNeese picked off a good SEL team. Omaha won 2 and is 7-1 in conference. Nebraska won. Even SIUE got off a 12 game schneid and beat Belmont. ORU took a double dip. Missouri lost on the road, but Creighton hasn't lost since, well, WSU, and UTA has won 2 straight. OU is 5-1 in the B12 after taking the 1st two from Baylor. (only loss to OSU who beat TCU last night). Furman was obviously traumatized by their beating here as they have now lost 7 straight, but Central Arkansas got a shutout win.
Future opponent KSU won. Ku lost to Morehead. SDSU is not good.

Warren Nolan has us 6th in RPI, dropped 10 spots in Collegiate Baseball (that poll is an enigma - seems to overreact in poll mobility in either direction) and D1 Baseball dropped us from 22 to 25. I exchanged a couple tweets with Aaron Fitt of D1 Baseball over the weekend and he seemed to be pretty high on the Shockers despite the series outcome.

I was going to post about this weekend on the other thread but its become a pissing match.
I thought this weekend was 2 pretty even teams. I think the real difference was we had 2 arms that could keep the ball down and sinking off your big bats. Holba and Smith worked 13.1 of the 18 innings in G2 and G3 only allowing 1 run. Those 2 guys and their pen kept Jenista and Bohm to 1 for 13 in the final 2 games. After being 5 of 11 in game 1.
There were some words exchanged a bit too and I'm excited about this developing rivalry. With Tulane in the tank I'm ready for a fun rival in the league. Houston has always been our daddy, UCF and USF are a roller coaster, Cincy and Memphis are in the tank and Uconn is just boring. Hopefully this turns into one to be pumped about. When you really get down it to we are the only two teams in the league that are playing well and have a strong fan interest.

Shocks remain unranked in Baseball America's poll this week (no surprise).
Waiting for the rest to drop later today.College baseball rankings Top 25 for Monday, April 9. Florida remains atop the Baseball America Top 25, powered by Louisville Slugger, after a 3-1 week and its fourth straight Southeastern Conference series win of the year.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

#30 (down from 28) in Collegiate Baseball. ECU sits at just #19 in this one along with some other real headscratchers (Michigan (19-11) debuts at #16 after a sweep of Northwestern? lol sure. The Wolverines have won 15 in a row...all against RPI 200+ teams, with just 1 Top 100 win on the season).
