Some have complained that WSU spends too much time and effort recruiting guys who are sure to be high draft choices; others lament that any eligible Shocker or WSU signee drafted high enough to get a reasonable offer always signs.
But here's one that the Shocks didn't sign, or to the best of my (admittedly limited) knowledge, make a serious effort to recruit despite the Owasso (the Blumas, Pete Kozma) connection, as reported by ESPN:
"At No. 4, Baltimore selected...Dylan Bundy, a...high school pitcher from Oklahoma. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound righty went 11-0 with 158 strikeouts and only five walks in 71 innings for Owasso High School."
Good heavens -- 158 K's (an average of 20 per 9 IP) and five walks?
