        Too bad

Logan Watkins - Daytona (Advanced A - Chicago Cubs):
        .204 Avg., .297 OBP, .276 Slg., 0 HR, 14 RBI, 5 SB

Wow -- this long, and that's where Watkins stands: an OPS below .600? Wonder if he's having any second thoughts? You know the Shocker staff has such data available for guys trying to decide whether to sign pro or come to WSU; it's striking that they aren't more successful in keeping their signees in the fold.

But what you should have added was that KJ did get released by the BoSox on May 17th. He had a horrible year injured going to camp and then tried to play catch up and never got in the groove.

But it is not over, soon to be in a uniform wearing the number 17. Get it fixed and try again.

That is no lady. That is the Sec of State, the honorable Hilary Clinton.

                    Per Goldstein:

A second-round pick in 2009, Gould had a so-so 4.09 ERA in the Pioneer League last year. When scouts saw him, all they could really talk about was projection, as while the skinny 6-foot-4 righty oozed it, his right-now stuff left plenty to be desired. That projection is starting to come through; what was once an upper-80s fastball is now in the lower 90s, and he is maintaining his good control and a very good curveball. He's looking like one of the best arms in the Midwest League after reeling off back-to-back starts without allowing an earned run. Consistency is a word rarely used in Low-A, but with a 1.55 ERA in 12 starts, in which he has never allowed more than two earned runs, Gould has been just that and maturing.

The Tigers have recently added Alex Burgos and Brian Flynn to the rotation. Burgos was a 5th round pick last year, and Flynn was chosen in the 7th this year. Burgos is more of a pitcher and Flynn right now is more of a thrower. In 2 starts Burgos has a 1.50 ERA, while Flynn allowed 3 runs in 4.2 innings today in his 1st start.
