This weekend:

GREAT: Jenista, Bohm, Troutwine and Barnhouse.

GOOD: Lots of hitting and O'Brien fielding 1st was excellent. Eddy and Heuer and Segal pitched well, and so did Clayton McGinness in 3 games for us.

BAD: Most of the rest of the pitching. Luke Ritter struggled leading off hitting only .083 and O'Brien and Dugas are going to have to protect the big guns better than they did.

Still, 3-0 is fantastic and you have to admit the team battled hard all weekend and succeeded where you're used to seeing them fail.

This is a series where we've dumped 2 of 3 or been swept in recent years. Great job gutting out a very hard earned sweep.

Great work offense, thank you for bailing out the pitching once again....get used to it. Very happy 2018 is off to a great start, but I'll hold my breath. We were 8-0 to start the season last year and you know what happened. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend to get us to 6-0.

So far, the offense if 2-0 in out-pacing the bullpen. We'll see how they can do for the season. I think they'll find some opponent's pitching better than McNeese's.

We are going to allow a LOT of runs this season.

Hopefully we score a LOT MORE runs this season.

I haven't been able to find the USA Today/Coaches Poll or NCBWA Poll for this week yet. The others (Collegiate Baseball, Baseball American and D1Baseball) don't detail "others receiving votes" - we didn't crack the threshold to be ranked in any of those.
