And the long awaited debut of Alex Segal as he takes the mound for the 7th. Man a good outing here would be fantastic.

Well that works. 8 pitches, 2 strike outs. 1-2-3 inning for Alex.

AAs go back to back doubles and it's 9-2 Shocks. Not sure the season could have started much better.

Shane beating me to the punch....our hitters anxious to get back to the hotel for dinner. 11-2 to the bottom of the 9th.

Tyler Davis relieved Segal after 2 batters and 1 pinch. Hope Alex wasn't hurt.

I bet they had him in a strict pitch count.

WSU has already done something twice that they only did 5 times all of last year: road wins

To just put it all in perspective - WSU was 5-22 on the road last year.

1 and 2/3 for Davis as he closes out the 11-2 win. 9 road wins the last 2 seasons combined. Good start to maybe turning things around.

Good pitching from Eddy, Sanburn, Barnhouse, Segal and even Heuer so far. Solid hitting. No errors. By the way last season was one of the best defensive efforts ever for a WSU team.

Best defensive fielding percentages*. They couldn't catch a can of corn or pitches.

Nice start. It would be nice to have something to cheer for and talent worth paying to see.

I wasn't able to follow the game closely but from looking at the box score and reading the comments on this thread it sounds like a very solid effort in all phases. Pitching, Hitting and Defense.

It's early but Shocks have played 18 errorless innings so far.

Greyson and Alec getting off to good starts. May want to get out and see these guys this year. If they keep this up they will be moving on up this summer. Every time these two guys make solid contact this year those BBCOR bats have a unique sound. Ka-Ching!

Not sure that McNeese State are world beaters but they are probably as good as anybody in the Valley outside of DBU and MSU. That said good teams win the games they should win and the Shocks have failed far too often with that in recent years.
