Sit down Suckamores. Have a nice trip back to Terre TruckStop.
I agree '89. Helluva performance. Also agree Doc that the boys know what lies ahead. No need to celebrate crazily after nearly run-ruling a high school club like they're supposed to.
They need to play pissed off tomorrow too and hope the bats continue to stay hot.
Defense and pitching today was SUPERB.

Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

:) The reason I brought this up is: I think for Gene, he may no longer care about winning in the regular season. Therefore he may use the regular season to play guys that have potential just for the post season success. Well, my theory anyway.

Damn, I missed every minute of today's game. Hmmm, maybe that's the key.
Not sure I should watch tomorrow's championship game.
Way to snap back Shocks. I kind of thought Zach would either be great or be terrible. Thank goodness he was great. What a confidence boost for the young man.
Do they bring Charlie back on 3-days rest tomorrow and try to get 5 or 6 innings out of him or do we just go Johnny Wholestaff?
I'm not sure they have a lot of choice. Technically, Charlie will have 4 days rest (he was done by 3pm Tuesday and the game tomorrow isn't until 7) and the really fresh relievers I can think of are all short guys. If Charlie can't go at least 5 effective (and he won't go more than 2 if he isn't) then it would seem we are in big trouble.
Gene won't pitch Flynn, Smith or Beringer, and I don't think he'll pitch Minnis.

Is there anyone I am forgetting?
I don't think we are necessarily in big trouble if Charlie is not effective, although we could be. Who would have bet we would get a 4-hit shut-out from Zach and Albert today.
We have plenty of arms that can go an inning or two including TJ, Grant, Chance and Cale. Who knows at this point and with the end of the season on the line I could see Gene/Brent extending Cale to 3 innings if need be. I doubt that TJ will go more than 2 since he pitched 4 on Wednesday. In a pinch we also have Aaron, Foster, Drew and Justin available, although if we have to go that deep then we may very well be in trouble. Drew is pretty much a come in and get a lefthander out kind of guy. The problem with Chance, Foster, Drew and Justin is they have not had much work lately and may not be sharp.
I think we proved today that if you make the opponent work for and earn everything we are in pretty good shape. Start walking the leadoff hitters and kicking the ball around and we will struggle.
