So Ill State wins won, loses one and they are out?

But if WSU loses to Indiana State at 4 p.m., Ind State has to beat them again?

That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

If this is true, this is not the same format at the CWS used in 1989.

That format had the winners of two four-team double elimination brackets play in a single-game championship.

Il State lost to the trees and then beat the aces and then lost to the trees.

Illinois State has lost 2 games, not 1.

A little off topic, okay a lot off topic, but since this particular thread is dead, I'll post my question here.

I was at my neighbors house yesterday evening helping him rerun his cable after the guy remodeling their kitchen cut the main line into the house and buried it behind ceramic tile. Anyway, they have a son that plays on a local legion team and a bunch of those kids attended the tournament. While we were finishing up, my neighbor's son came home from yesterday's game.

I asked how everything went. He told me he had a good time, but at all three Missouri State games there were these two dozen girls dressed in pink shirts that were screaming in a high pitch shrill all games. I asked if they were boosters or what, he thinks they are students, but didn't know if they were a pep club or player's girlfriends or what. He said it was the most annoying thing he's ever heard at a ballgame. He said it gave them headaches and they were up in the concourse on the other side of the stadium.

The funny thing is, six or seven of his buddies were so sick and tired of it that they (being high school kids and somewhat immature) moved over and sat down right behind these girls yesterday. They started doing the same thing, but he said they were kind of leaning forward and shrilling directly in the girl's ears. Apparently, the girls got very upset and went to talk to security. Security wouldn't do anything because they were doing nothing different than these girls were doing. These guys made fun of them the whole game! Ah, to be 16 again!!!

My question is this, is this type of screaming normal at a college baseball game? This kid said it was horrendous. Why would girls travel six hours just to scream? Do they do the same thing in Wichita? What's the deal?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

They do at every MSU event and it makes usually very normal people consider doing very criminal, evil things to them. It wouldn't be so bad if the screaming occurred when they scored or made a great play, but they do it with the same verocity whether the Bears hit a game-winning grand slam or if a player knocks a few dirtclods out of his cleats. I think the University hires them and pays them in Red Bull and crack.

Kudos to the boys who paid them back in kind.

His buddies are my new heroes. Tell them their college is now paid for due to their heroic efforts.

Seriously, really bad things can't happen to that group of girls soon enough. For crying out loud, even as baseball whores, the MSU players HAVE to be tired of it.

I think they have been doing this at MoState games in Wichita ever since they entered the Valley in the early 90s.

I think the leaders are actually relatives of Coach Guttin (wife and daughters).

                  It is unbelievably annoying.

Looks like its time to fight fire with fire and take the boys' lead. They come to Wichita and do this, there needs to be 2 or 3xs as many sitting right behind them and doing the same thing. First, see security will ask them to stop or leave. If security is not willing to do anything or is not effective, rally the chorus section behind them.

Bravo to the young men who zinged them back. They have made their pilgrimage to Wichita and as others have mentioned, it's the most annoying sound in the world. It makes little league moms seem pleasant. You could hear the shrills on the broadcast for every Missouri State game... after EVERY ball or EVERY strike or EVERY blade of glass that bent MSU's way.

I hate sCUm more than anything, but I'm glad they got it fed back to them. I hope their voices were hoarse and the tears were rolling all the way back to Springpatch.

                      ... No really, deuces.
