  • CU wins in a wild pitch.

    Bad way to lose.

    Oh well.

    • The Jays will be playing their sixth game in four days. Their arms have all been used. All of them.

If we can't tee off on those guys, we don't deserve to win. Time to step up and be a championship caliber team.

      • Charlie and Cale have more rest than any of there pitchers. Not sure what the says. Just saying.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

They will have both of their 1 and 2 starters available. That will be all the pitching they will likely need.

          • I like how the game appears to favor us pitching wise, but all of our pitchers have demonstrated to lay a complete goose egg. In addition, there is no tellin' which defense and hitting shows up.

Didn't last year's title game with ISU have a favorable match-up for us? But then we end up getting dominated. But oh how I would love nothing more than for the Shox be the first team to Christen the new ballpark mound with a dog pile.

But to clarify both of them will be on 2 days rest....guessin they haven't done that all year.....I like our chances.

              • Their #1 threw over 110 pitches on Wednesday. No way he is feeling very good on 2 days rest.

We lit up their #2 when we faced him this year, 12 hits in 6.1 innings, and he threw about 70 pitches on Wednesday. He won't be feeling great either.

                Conclusion: I like our chances.

Ummmm, you're right, that will inevitably happen again and we are doomed to a loss.

Is that the response you are looking for?

                        • Yes, I believe that is correct. Van Horn, the Butcher of Fayetteville.

                          Comment

                          • Actually I think Van Horn let Charlie wear that one saying that Boyce told him he could go.

What was it, something like 236 pitches in 1 day?

My memory is shot, but I seem to remember Arkansas fans saying things like "he'll never go pro so what does it matter" etc etc. Then the kid did and ended up with a couple of arm injuries and surgeries....but again I could be making that all up.

                            Now, back to the MVC.

Creighton is a lock for the NCAA (their coach said so) so it would benefit the Valley to get 2 teams in. This would seem to go against the usual Valley protocol when it comes to WSU. I am sure this is cause for consternation in St. Louis right now. They would have been a lot happier if ISU had won.

Be that as it may, Creighton will have every Bishop available in the greater Omaha area handing out all the free tickets they can print for tonight's game. Cold's personal favorite Joan of Ark Day will pale in comparison to the freebies they will have passed out for tonight's game. A crowd of 14,000 is a cinch, and 18-20k is more likely than not.

Red sweatshirts will be everywhere. They'll be out to crown their Jayskers champions (and hope Servais gets hired by their beloved Huskers at the end of the season).

Every other remaining Valley fans (all 12 of them) will put their support behind the Jays. Even the Bear-whores will scream at every pitch for the BJs.

Just once I'd like to see WSU feed a big old shatburger as the decided underdog so the rest of the Valley will know what it's like to be knocked from the mountain top. The Shocks have carried this league for 3 decades....seeing this team get to the tournament would be a bit of poetic justice, especially on the Jays "home" field.

Creighton seems to be talking about some kind of redemption (according to the article today)....I believe this is the Shocks game to lose.

                            Go get 'em Charlie!

Anybody feeling good about tomorrow has not been following this team this year. Though could come out and lay down a epic beat down on CU or the opposite.

Agreed. Was just trying to figure out your odd argumentativeness against anyone pointing out that the CU staff is worn out.
