  • Shox vs. Creighton

Big, big series this weekend. Shox really need to put the embarrasment of losing to Ku behind them and sweep these guys.

If we go 2-1 we will still be in hunt, because the schedule favors us for the last six games. But a 3-0 sweep is really what we need.

Creighton has a good rpi and they have beaten both Ku and Kstate this year. Other than that there is nothing that stands out to me about them.

Cu should be used to playing in front of large crowds by now. After playing their first few home games at the old CU sports complex in front of a handful of fans they have drawn big crowds at their new home in TD Ameritrade Park. They also struggled in their first 4 games in the new park, losing to UNL and losing 2 out of 3 to SIU.

Cu is currently third in the nation in average attendance since moving to the new park (including only the games at the new park). Omahans seem to like to go to new stadiums and arenas.

sounds like he's been reading Shockernet

"As far as physical tools, we may have more talent than we've had in the past. But we don't have any ballplayers. We don't have any guys who understand being in the right place at the right time doing the right things. They don't have any instincts, any feel for it. I watch these guys—I talk about passion, I talk about mental toughness, I talk about commitment. I think I'm talking a foreign language.

If he'd been reading SN, he'd know where the buck stops.

Hire a ballplayer that had instincts, Gene. You won't have to look far.

Lowell and Flynn give me hope, after that it is pretty much a toss up.

GO SHOX, remember, CU girls love the Shocker!
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

                        8-0 shox, top of 9th

Lowell with only 90 pitches thru 8 so I would expect him to finish it out.

WSU No. 1 beats CU No. 2

Tomorrow WSU No. 2 faces CU No. 1

WSU is now 1 game out of first place and in 2nd place.
