Great come back win after spoting the Cowboys with 3 unearned runs. It's always nice beating them and it is always nice to beat a top 20 team.

A very fun game to watch. An awesome win, it makes the drive to Topeka go much easier.

All 3 freshmen pitchers did a great job tonight. And every Shocker hitter got at least one hit as the Shox put up 12 hits against a ranked team that is suppose to have a good pitching staff.

What exactly has OSU accomplished with their great league affiliation? I hate to rip on them as OSU is actually one of the few BCS schools in the region I like but really all you did was bring light to the fact that OSU has many built in advantages in all sports thanks to league affiliation and yet they do nothing with it year in and year out.

Can't imagine what WSU athletics would do with big 12 affiliation. So get off your big boy BCS horse, take a deep breath, and quit being so sensitive. If you are a baseball fan like you claim to be then you know that WSU has a tremendous history and despite the last two and a half years of suck, still has greater recent history than OSU as well.

Or you can stay on that horse and tell yourself that "well OSU is in the same league as X, Y, and Z."

All 3 freshmen pitchers did a great job tonight. And every Shocker hitter got at least one hit as the Shox put up 12 hits against a ranked team that is suppose to have a good pitching staff.

Don't get too excited about the offensive output vs. OSU's Johnny Wholestaff. Clearly, their mindset was to get what they could from a spot starter then piece together the remaining innings. Most of their workhorse relievers, McCurry, Hursh, Hererra, and Marlowe didn't even play.

That said, the Shox didn't give up. The lower part of the order is starting to get on base a little and the big 3 are sharing the load driving in runs. If Micah Green continues to improve, IMO, he and Kevin Hall should swap places in the batting order. Micah is getting to the point where he is making contact most of the time.

Zach Beringer must have been pissed after being yanked over the weekend. Good for him - we need some players to play pissed. Minnis and Elam were good enough and the 3 unearned probably knocked Minnis out early.

The defensive problems continue, luckily there was enough offense to overcome the one big OSU inning.

This weekend's series at Carbondale is the biggest weekend of the season with the rest of the conference schedule at home. 2 of 3 is a minimum, 3 of 3 is clearly better. Lowell and Flynn need to be themselves and starter 3 (Smith?) needs to buck the trend of a 3rd game letdown.

The Shox will determine whether they are contenders or pretenders.

Hey "Poke", we're 7-5 versus your "ranked" team since 2005 (which followed a 6 year scheduling hiatus), and in the same period we've been a Super Regional participant twice (hosting one) as compared to a single, lone, away appearance by your Stoolwater crew.
