  • Shocks vs Evansville (Game 2)

Wow! I was expecting the Shocks would be tough today with Big C on the mound, but that was one of the most complete, fundamentally sound games of the season played by the Shocks today.

Not sure they can sustain this but at least it shows what they are capable of (at least when they have a dominant stud on the mound). Great to pound someone into submission instead of giving away games we should have won with mental and physical errors.

If we are going to pound on the guys when they play bad we can also pat them on the back when they play good. And, today at least, they played great.

Now, let's hope we see more and more of this.

    :good: :goshocks:

Nice to see Preston Springer and Johnny Coy looking like they are starting to swing the bats like we thought they could.

Chris, Johnny & Preston combined to go 9-15 with 2 home runs, 6 RBI and 5 runs scored.

And Tyler Grimes had a very good day also going 3-5 with 2 runs scored and an RBI and just as importantly made 7 assists with no errors including starting one double play. Nor did any of his teammates make an error.

With Micah Green contributing 2 hits in 3 AB's plus a walk out of the 9-hole you have yourself a feel good day.

About as good as it gets for the Shocks.

Can or will they continue this? I have no idea, but I guess we should just enjoy the day and hope the guys enjoy the day.

The error column was empty today. If that happens more often than not,we can turn it around. If we keep putting 2's and 3's in that column,it will be status quo.
I hope we see Coy keep his approach that he has right now. With Coy,Springer and O'Brien we could do some damage.

That's the team I expected to watch this year. Good all the way around and the weather ...
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Great game by everyone, glad to see Micah Green doing well.

I tunred to the people behind me in the bottom of the 8th and told them we might as well get four so Charlie did not have to come out in the 9th and bingo.

            GO SHOX!
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!
