Normally you fell good with 2-3-4 coming up, but CO is the only one I have any confidence in doing anything at the moment.

Well lets lay the blame where it belongs - Flynn.

I mean this program performance should not be a real surprise when you have have two veteran players like Coy and Flynn who are a total disappointments.

Or, we could quit buying into the concept of throwing players under the bus, and ask ourselves - who keeps putting the same guys into situations that they've repeatedly been unable to handle?

              what about those decisions?

Gene and Brent are responsible for this situation, it would have been best of they would have stayed in Norman with their beloved Sooners.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

That is just a given. When is Gene contract up?

Actually I found the answer. There is actually a good site.

Gene contract runs through June of 2014. Very interesting in the ways he gets payed:

                      Rights to the all-american club

$250 for every player with 3.0-3.24 GPA
$500 for every player with 3.25-3.49 GPA
$750 for every player with a GPA >3.5

Regular Season or Tournament MVC Championship - 3,000
For each Baseball game won - $3,000 [might explain why certain teams are on the schedule)
                      Regional Won - 10,000
                      CWS Championship Game - $15,000
                      CWS Champion - $15,000

$25,000 for doing radio (probably old numbers)

                      Salary for 2009-2010 - $433,561

                        Nice find SB.

Attendance this spring will be interesting. I suspect that if we continue our current trend, season tickets renewals are going to take a nasty hit next season. No regional two years in a row = a lot of the blue hairs are gonna cut out WSU baseball and reinstate the country club memberships they dropped in 2008 when their IRA took it in the shorts.

To be fair, what option on the bench can Gene play to replace the guys who are blowing games and who are under performing?

I wish Hall and Grimes would bunt more often. That's all I ask when a third baseman can't throw anyone out ever on a bunt. When you are having trouble making contact, bunt and use your God given tools.

I don't know what his other options are. Pay me $400,000+ a year, and I'll sure as hell figure it out for you.

I'm just saying, I'm tired of year after year, the same crap form this coaching staff --- the crap where they get all the glory (and the money, as shown above) when the team does well, and the players can take turns being thrown under the bus when things don't work out.

How about some accountability, starting at the top? Every team is hand-picked/recruited, coached & developed by these guys, but when it turns into a performance that sucks, well:

"these have got to be the dumbest guys I've ever coached", and crap like that.

                                Flynn

After last season, I posted something about how Flynn owed his teammates an apology -- and some good work this year -- because his failure to take care of academic business affected the staff enough to cost WSU an at-large bid to the tournament.

The way Flynn's been pitching lately, though, I'm not so sure any more. The worst thing you can have is a guy who plays regularly and performs badly. He's much worse than a guy who simply isn't good enough to get in, because a guy who isn't good enough to play at least doesn't hurt you; he never gets a chance. A player who gets in regularly and then stinks it up, though -- now that's a killer. And that's what Flynn is doing.
