Has anyone heard any "scuttlebutt" regarding any information beyond early signees for the incoming recruiting class?

As far as I can ascertain Gardner and Kerans are redshirts this year...so far! Any ideas on available schollies or walk-ons?

I know there is a speedy outfielder at Maize, Thomas Clay that is a prospect..6.4 second 60 yard dash, plays summer ball in TX, Burk Burnett I think.

Maize also has a senior pitcher Gage Byers, high 80's low 90's guy, plays summer ball with Wolverines...not sure about quallifier status with NCAA.

Tory Bell catcher from Maize, big stick, great arm, so-so receiving skills, not sure of his NCAA qualifications but hits with lots of power.

Levi Meyer, current freshman catcher from Iowa Western Juco via Goddard KS, I believe he is a qualifier and better immediately defensively than any current or prospective WSU catcher, streaky as a hitter with a bit of pop. His dad is a local police officer.

I mentioned a year ago or so that Maize had several underclassmen prospects to include: 6'6" pitcher Craig Nicks, jr., J.C. Sturgeon if/of, jr.,
...etc. J.C. is the younger brother of Blake Sturgeon currently at Johnson County JUCO, JC hits a ton and is versatile.

Perhaps the best prospect out of Maize is a junior, Ryan McBroom. Ryan is a slick fielding infielder/short- stop, who can play outfield, who also bats left-handed, runs well...etc. Jim Thomas and Gene Stephenson would do well to get in on him NOW! He is after all a teammate of current signee Conner Knight, and a former teammate of current Shocker Dillon Kerans. Watch this kid!!! I don't know where he wants to go to school but he is an upgrade at shortstop! Great kid, great work ethic!!

Is there any word on Nathan Williams out of Valley Center? Lanky pitcher who has played several years for the Wolverines in the summer? I thought I heard of him committing to KSU? I wondered if he has been recruited to WSU?

I also saw where Nick Cocking formerly of Maize and KSU had transferred to Butler JUCO. He is a former highschool teammate of Ryan Hege and Dillon Kerans, wondered what his current situation is and whether or not he would be helpful to our Shocks?

I have been following Adam Giacalone since he pitched a couple of perfect games as a highschooler in the KC area. He is currently a pitcher/1st baseman at Neosho JUCO in Kansas. From what I can tell he is hitting for both average and power there. I also saw where he struck out 17 in a game as a pitcher. By all accounts, he is a late blooming qualifier who is solid academically and who is one "hellacious" ball player all the way around. MEMO to JT and Brent...Get into this kids ear NOW! Get Vielock, Minnis to help you! If my sources are correct, he was to be Dillon Kerans' roommate at Neosho before Kerans was invited to WSU!

Drew Palmer a left handed pitcher out of Ark City/Winfield? I think he ended up at Cowley JUCO? Very good arm, very raw, maybe a problem being healthy? Any word on him?

Just speculating....any other ideas or prospects?

Just saw on rivals we don't have a top 100 in the country verballed. A few oklahoma boys and 2 KS players listed but other than that, not too many players I think we even woulda went after due to geography.

There are some decent prospects in the area, a lot at Maize, as you said.

You are right on the Maize kids, as far as talent level and potential.

        Williams has committed/signed with K-State.

There are a couple of kids at city/area schools that are sons of former Shockers that might be possibilities in the future.

Have a buddy who coaches at Campus, said they have a junior outfielder that is a high major kid. Runs low 6's in the 60, great arm, great hitter. Is hitting .700 after six games with two HR's (one inside the park). Plays for the Wichita Reds in the summer. His name is Justin Burba. Sounds like a kid the Shocks should be on for the 2012 class.

He was recruited by wsu and offered from what I heard but chose ksu over wsu.
