Gene was hinting in pregame show of Tommy John surgery.

Boy that is too bad if that ends up being the case.

Any chance of a medical redshirt? Or has he appeared in too many games this season?

He is a 5th year senior, I can't see him wanting to stick around for another year.

Especially if he has TJ surgery as he won't be himself next spring anyways.

Any word on the MRI results?

According to Mike in the OSU pre-game show the MRI did not show a ligament tear and they think he should be able to rehab the strain with physical therapy. However, they really have no idea if or when he would be able to return.

Tobin Mateychick OTOH will undergo Tommy John surgery.

WSU starter Tim Kelley underwent an MRI on Tuesday. The news, according to coach Gene Stephenson, is cause for cautious – extremely cautious – optimism. The diagnosis is a flexor muscle injury, which may be treated by rehab.

WSU sophomore pitcher Tobin Mateychick, who hasn’t pitched since early in the season, will have Tommy John elbow surgery on Friday.
