  • WSU-Hawaii Game 2

I'm a glutton for punishment and will be staying up late for this one. The weekend can still be a success if we can rally to take the last 3 games of the series.

OB continues to hit well. 2 out RBI double, Shocks lead 1-0 in the first.

And OB with a sac fly in the third to put the Shox ahead 2-0. Smith has looked sharp with good control on the mound thus far.

After the performance the Shocker basketball team put on tonight in New York, the baseball team has no choice. They must win and win with style.

So far off to a good start.

Turning the wrong way at first - it happens. Forgetting how many outs there are and getting doubled off at second (Grimes) is less than stellar.

              Still 2-0 to the 7th.

Smith's progression has been a lot of fun to watch at WSU. Proof positive that BK is one of, if not THE best at what he does.

Too bad his offensive counterpart cannot claim the same.

Top 8, bases juiced and 1 out for Chris O'Brien. Hawaii changing pitchers.

                      3 run double for O'Brien! 5-0 Shocks

OB with all 5 RBI on the day thus far.

Parker ruins OB's monopoly on runs driven in with an RBI single in the next at bat. 6-0 WSU, runner on 1st, 1 out in the top of the 8th.

I think we've got this one. Bed time.

Maybe not quite the firepower of a Smith & Wesson but the Shocks' Smith & O'Brien have been a potent weapon for the Shocks tonight.

Very nice outing on the mound for Josh. Chris continues to produce at the plate, but it would be nice if a few of the other guys would join the party.

TJ McGreevey loads the bases in the 8th with one out, but then gets a K and a fly to left to get out of the inning.

                          Whew!

TJ gives up 3 hits and 2 runs in the 9th. Zach Beringer on in relief with one out and one on.

Shocks still need two more outs.

Zach walks the 1st batter he faces to put batters on 1st and 2nd.

That's enough for Gene. Zach out and LH Drew Rainey in to pitch to two lefties due up.

Shocker bullpen not getting the job done.

Drew gets a ground out to 2nd for out #2. Runners move to 2nd and 3rd with Hawaii's best hitter Colton Wong up.

Rainey walks Wong to load the bases and bring the tying run to the plate.

Aaron LaBrie coming in to try and finish this off.
